Work progresses ahead of the Ibero-American Summit in the Dominican Republic

SANTO DOMINGO, March 22 (Prensa Latina) Today the preceding work of the 28th Ibero-American Summit is presented to Heads of State and Government to agree on the documents to be submitted for approval by the States present.

The national coordinators and those responsible for cooperation met this Wednesday and will conclude tomorrow to work on the aforementioned documents, namely: the Santo Domingo Declaration, the summit work program, and the special statements to be announced by the countries of the region. Adoption and formation of specific agreements.

According to the Ibero-American General Secretariat (Segib), in the case of foreign ministers, they will agree on the main agreements and commitments reached during the sectoral meetings, forums, preparatory meetings and seminars held over the past two years.

This Thursday, in addition to the meeting of the coordinators, a meeting is scheduled with the observers and advisors affiliated to the Ibero-American Conference, and it will be the first day of the 16th Ibero-American Business Meeting, in which the Latin American Economic Prospects report will take place. The 2022 report will be presented at the Sanssouci Congress Centre.

The summit will open in Ozama colonial castle next Friday night and on Saturday starting at 09:30 local time, and the plenary session will be held, with lunch to be served by President Luis Abinader to his counterpart. Guests in private and without agenda, in the National Palace.

It is expected that 14 presidents, two vice-presidents, two prime ministers and 22 foreign ministers will adopt important tools aimed at ensuring the development of the region.
