WAPA Deportes launches new sports analysis program | Basketball

Wapa Sports continues to grow.

The sports channel announced, on Wednesday, the arrival of the analysis and media program La Línea Deportiva, which will be headed by journalist Kiferrin Velasquez and former basketball player and analyst Natalia Melendez.

The broadcast will be broadcast daily at 6 pm starting next Friday, May 20.

“We feel very proud of all that we have accomplished at the channel to get to this moment when we will have a consistent space for sports analysis like the great sports networks in the nation (in the US),” said the Wapa director. Deportez, Paco Vargas, in written statements.

“Having the knowledge and experience of Natalia and Kafrin is an added value not only for the channel, but also for the viewers who enjoy sports and who will have an information center every day to expand on topics of interest to them. Also through this project, we have increased the workshop for about 20 additional people who were integrated into the workshop,” he added. La Línea Deportiva will be broadcast from Héctor Modestti’s studio on Wapa Televisión, where an exclusive set for the program has been created.

Content will vary depending on the day of the week and special events taking place during that period.

From Friday to Sunday current issues will be discussed. On Tuesday, the program will focus on the NBA. On Wednesdays, you’ll be directed to baseball topics, including Major League Baseball and the local leagues. While on Thursdays, it will be devoted to boxing issues.

Likewise, it will be an additional platform to cover special events such as the FIBA ​​Qualifier windows, 3×3 tournaments, Miguel Cotto’s induction into the Boxing Hall of Fame, and Yadier Molina’s farewell to major tournaments, among others.

Among the fixed clips that will be included in the weekend: Top 5 Plays, which will highlight the best plays of the week from various sports. In addition, in the Puerto Ricans in the world section, Puerto Rican athletes who stand out both on and off the island will be highlighted.

For her part, Melendez will be responsible for Thinking Out Loud, in which she will share key moments in the sport, positive feedback and raise awareness about women’s sport.

Likewise, followers of wapadeportes’ social networks will be able to participate in the conversation in the La Línea section.

“This is a huge step for players, athletes and sports fans. The Sports Line has become a space to expand on the topics we are passionate about and that require more time to analyze than the news,” said Velazquez.

“In addition, it will allow us to learn more about the glories that are already established and those who are rising in the minor leagues. Being with Natalia Melendez is a privilege. We have already worked together at FIBA ​​events and we share the same love for what we do.
