A 15-year-old girl was given a few months to live after being diagnosed with “mental pain”, when in reality she was suffering from a terminal illness.
Olivia Mander From Hampshire, UK, she started having back pain in 2020. When she went to the hospital, the doctors diagnosed her with Back Pain Syndrome. Complex regional pain (CRPS)After an MRI failed to detect a tumor.

Olivia Mander had terminal cancer
At first, the girl was relieved by the diagnosis, but then became frustrated that no medication was prescribed and nothing relieved her pain. He said, “I knew I was in pain and that it wasn’t in my head.”
Doctors told him the pain was mental, but at a second examination they determined he had terminal cancer, at the end of 2022.
“We told the doctors several times how much pain she was in (…). She was screaming in pain, but they asked us: ‘Have you tried a mindfulness app?’” And they told me it was pressure. They wanted her, said the mother, Carol Rolfe.
Now the family is raising funds for him to spend his last months well.
