Orlando City has announced the signing of local goalkeeper Javier Otero until the end of the 2024 MLS season, with options for 2025 and 2026.

Otero, 20, joined Orlando’s academy in 2017, before arriving at Orlando City B in 2020. “Javier is someone we’ve seen show real talent and a willingness to work hard to keep developing his game at every level,” said Luiz Mozzi, vice president of football. Otero, who has yet to make his first-team debut for Orlando City on several occasions, has been called up the Purple Team’s second home goaltender, along with Mason Stagdohar. The first-team goalkeepers are complemented by Pedro Gallese and Adam Grenouilles.
