Vietnam Airlines expands its international operations

HANOI, June 3 (Prensa Latina) Today, Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Airlines gave another boost to revitalizing international tourism by resuming operations to Busan, South Korea, and the Thai city of Phuket, respectively.

Vietnam Airlines has resumed links between this capital and Busan, becoming the first foreign airline to fly to that destination after restrictions imposed by South Korea as a result of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Entity managers confirmed that the connection between these two cities will have a weekly frequency of three flights.

Vietnam Airlines Group, made up of the airline of the same name, Pacific Airlines and VASCO Air Services, announced days ago that from June 1 to next August 15 it will provide more than 7.1 million seats on its aircraft, equivalent to 36. thousand flights on routes. local and international.

Most of the jobs (6.3 million) will be dedicated to national communications, which is a 10 percent increase compared to the same period in 2019.

Meanwhile, the remaining 825 thousand spaces, equivalent to 3,600 flights, will be for international routes, since demand in this sector is still slowly recovering.

For its part, Vietjet Air will fly four times a week to Phuket, becoming the first Vietnamese airline to resume operations on this itinerary, in addition to Bangkok.

The low-cost carrier resumed its international flights at the beginning of last May through the Hanoi-New Delhi link, which ended two years of disruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

FitJet also plans to resume operations to Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia and other countries.
