US blocks UK from giving Kyiv approval for Shadow Storm

The United States is blocking the United Kingdom from allowing Ukraine to use Storm Shadow cruise missiles to attack Russian territory, The Times reported, citing a government source in London. The British executive source claims that a request sent to Washington more than a month ago to allow Kiev to use Storm Shadows to attack Russia is still awaiting a response due to the US administration’s concerns about escalating the conflict in Ukraine. The Times previously reported that the UK government was trying to persuade its allies to allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadows to attack Russian territory.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky In July, he said that the new Labour-led government in the UK would allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles to strike targets deep inside Russia. However, sources from the British newspaper The Telegraph later reported that the British Ministry of Defence had refuted the Kyiv head of state’s claims.
