With a strong boost to scientific activity in the state, a fundamental interest of Hidalgo’s governor, Julio Menchaca Salazar; The Polytechnic University of Pachuca (UPP) will hold the Ibero-American Science and Engineering Symposium (Simci) on November 22-23.
Within a twelve-year tradition, this university is committed to science, technology and research as an essential part of the teaching and learning process, as emphasized by its President, Francisco Marroquín Gutiérrez.
In this year’s edition, Simci will be held in multiple venues: the Tuzoforum Convention Center, the UPP Medical Training, Innovation and Research Center (CFIIM) and the Polytechnic University of Pachuca.
Under the instructions of the Minister of Public Education of Hidalgo, Natividad Castrejón Valdez, this symposium will be open to the entire scientific community of the country and other parts of the world.
Prominent specialists will discuss the most prominent features of scientific research and technological development between the academic sectors, business sectors and society. In addition to exchanging experiences, establishing future cooperation relationships, and involving new generations of professionals.
Attendees will be able to participate in various major conferences, exhibitions of scientific works, poster presentations, as well as courses and workshops taught by specialists.
Simci 2023 aims to disseminate new ideas and insights from theoretical and experimental work, as well as prototypes, designs and tools, with the aim of contributing to the progress of the region, state and nation.
The thematic areas will be: biological and health sciences, engineering and computer sciences, communications, education and finance.
The Rector announced that Secretary Natividad Castrejón would participate in the inaugural main conference; Federico C. González White, Executive Director of the Center for Research and Innovation in ICT (Infotec), with the presentation “Welcome to digital transformation in Mexico”; and Luis Antonio Salazar Olivo, Director General of the Botosino Institute of Scientific and Technological Research, at the conference “Study of mammalian adipose tissue and its dysfunctions.” Challenges and opportunities.”
Infotec and the Potocino Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (IPICYT) are two research centers of great national importance, coordinated by the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technology (CONAHCYT).
Academics, students, researchers, university rectors, professionals, businessmen, organizations and the general public interested in contributing to the scientific and technological development of the country are expected to attend.
