Quindian weightlifter Yoni Andica Indica will compete in Cali, from 10 to 16 May, representing Colombia in the South American Championships, the Ibero-American Championship and the Open Specialty Qualifications.
The Colombian Weightlifting Federation has summoned the youngest national team in Andica to search for a place in the Tokyo Olympics.
It should be noted that Colombia will host the last international event qualified for the highest international sporting competition.
Cali will welcome around 200 athletes from the United States, Canada, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Belarus, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Lebanon, Marshall Islands, Sweden, Albania, Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Panama.
The event was organized by the Colombian Federation and endorsed by the Pan American Weightlifting Federation, and the competition was scheduled to be held in March 2020, but could not be held due to the pandemic.

Indica Indica will be weighed in the 81kg category with representatives from Spain, Peru, Argentina and the United States, among others.
“Preparation continues, but this classification is challenging, as I was not supposed to be part of the Colombian team for this kind of competition. I will do my best to get the best results.”
