(CNN) — King Charles III is back in action for the first time since its unveiling Cancer diagnosis.

The Queen was photographed shaking hands with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak upon his arrival at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday afternoon.

Their meeting represents a resumption of their weekly meetings to discuss government issues.

Although the king has stopped making any public engagements while undergoing cancer treatment, he continues his duties as head of state.

Pictures published by the British news agency PA Media show Carlos, wearing a suit and tie, welcoming Sunak with a broad smile.

“We all support him. The whole country supports him,” Sunak said, according to what was reported by Palestinian media.

Carlos replied: “I have received so many wonderful letters and cards. “He made me cry most of the time.”

On February 6, Buckingham Palace announced that Charles, 75, had been diagnosed with an unknown form of cancer and would step down from public duties while he underwent treatment.

He previously expressed his gratitude to the public for their support, saying that it gave him “the greatest amount of comfort and encouragement.”
