Investing.com – British stocks closed lower on Wednesday; Declines in the sectors led to lower indices.
At the close in London, it was down 0.10%.
The best value for the session was BT Group PLC (LON:), up 2.06%, or 2.35 points, to settle at 116.25 at the close. They follow him central PLC (LON:) which advanced 1.61%, or 1.46 points, to close at 91.98 and Admiral group PLC (LON:), which rose 1.61%, or 33.00 points, to end the session at 2.00.
At the bottom of the index was Tui AG (LON :), which fell 7.99%, or 11.80 points, to close at 135.85. For its part, International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (LON:) declined 2.93%, 3.96 points, to close at 131.28, while BHP Group PLC (LON::) achieved returns of 2.30%, 59.00 points, to close at 2.00.
The Reds beat the Greens on the LSE by a margin of 1,000 to 760, with a close of 492 flat.
Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.34%, or $6.25 an ounce. Elsewhere in commodities, crude oil for January delivery rose 2.88%, or $2.17, to $77.56 a barrel, while Brent oil for February delivery rose 2.74%, $2.21, to $82.89 a barrel.
The GBP/USD rose 0.59% to 1.24, while the EUR/GBP was unchanged, adding 0.24% to 0.86.
The dollar index fell 0.26% to 103.29.
