Investing.com – British stocks ended higher on Monday; Sectoral gains led the indices higher.
At the close in London, it added 0.16%.
Best value for a session in Cannes Ocado Group PLC (LON:), up 3.93%, or 27.80 points, to settle at 735.60 at the close. It was followed by Samsung Electronics Co Ltd DRC (LON:), which rose 2.99%, or 37.50 points, to close at 1.00. Waseet Capital Group PLC (LON:) which rose 2.62%, or 33.50 points, to end the session at 1.00.
To the tail of the cursor is over fresnillo PLC (LON:) which fell by 4.91%, or 45.00 points, to close at 871.40. Meanwhile, St. James’s Place PLC (LON:) increased by 2.19%, to 27.00 points, to close at 1.00, while London Stock Exchange Group PLC (LON:) lost 2.16%, or 162.00 points, to close at 7.00.
The green numbers outperformed the red numbers on the London Stock Exchange by a margin of 1,124 to 692, with 477 closing flat.
Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.01%, or $0.25 an ounce. Elsewhere in commodities, crude oil for March delivery rose 0.88%, or $0.72 a barrel, $82.36, while Brent crude for March delivery rose 1.28%, $1.12 a barrel.
The GBP/USD settled down 0.17%, to 1.24, while the EUR/GBP remained unchanged, up 0.33%, to 0.88.
The dollar index rose 0.05% to 101.83.
