UK: Human remains found in two suitcases, man arrested in Bristol

British police have arrested a man in Bristol as part of their investigation into the remains of two people found in abandoned suitcases on Clifton Suspension Bridge on Wednesday. According to The Times, the 34-year-old man was arrested at Temple Meads train station in the early hours of Saturday by armed officers from Avon and Somerset Police and has been detained. Police said they had concluded their investigation into the incident.

The man was arrested following a joint operation by the Metropolitan Police (Met) and Avon and Somerset Local Police; Deputy Commissioner Andy Valentine said: “This is a significant development in our investigation and I would like to thank the public for their support. “We understand the concerns of the local communities in both Bristol and London and officers will remain in the Clifton and Shepherd’s Bush areas over the coming days to reassure those affected by this tragic incident.”
