Thanks to an agreement between De Montfort University (UK) and Pura University, students of the Business Administration and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering academic programs will be able to obtain a dual Bachelor’s degree at both universities.
In order to increase academic opportunities for students, Peora University has entered into an agreement with De Montfort University, an institution located in Leicester (United Kingdom).
This agreement is the first dual degree offered by UDEP and benefits undergraduate students from both campuses. Internationalization projects are formulated within the strategic plans of the university and complement the training of students, as it allows them to experience academic friction, culture and different realities.
De Montfort University representative, Carolina Sanchez, explained that although the dual degree opportunity is currently only available to students of the above programs, thanks to the alliance between universities, new agreements are expected to be concluded in favor of students of his university and other UDEP programs.
For his part, Professor Hugo Vistas noted that this agreement provides important benefits for students such as the opportunity to work in the UK upon completion of their studies, developing a global vision while enhancing their independence and maturity, improving their English and creating an international network of contacts.
Dual degree in Peru and the United Kingdom
To earn a dual degree at both universities, students must fulfill a series of requirements, such as being proficient in English to understand and express themselves without problems while studying in the UK. In addition, students of both programs must have studied at UDEP for four and a half years, to continue one year of baccalaureate studies in the UK and earn their degree in each country. The program also offers a series of facilities to students, such as low economic costs and the opportunity to work to make ends meet.
Regarding the syllabuses of each academic programme, Carolina Sanchez explained that in the UK, business students may choose to earn a bachelor’s degree in international finance, marketing or business and management; While mechanical and electrical engineering students take courses from undergraduate programs in electronic and electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
De Montfort University
This public university, over 150 years old, has four faculties: Business, Design, Arts, Computer Science and Engineering, and Health Sciences.
