They will symbolically enter the phase of the medical field, where they will put their knowledge into practice.
Ciudad Juarez, Cheh. (UACJ) – For the first time, 50 surgical students from the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) celebrated the ceremony of imposing their white coats as part of the transition to alternating training, the final stage of their academic training and in the first step of their professional career.
For a year, students will integrate all knowledge within the framework of rigorous academic, scientific and human quality standards that they obtained in their previous school courses, to apply them in patient care through the major specializations: internal medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, general surgery and emergencies.
The undergraduate interns will be distributed in different hospitals in the city, such as General Regional Hospital No. 6 and 35 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS); Ciudad Juárez General and Family Hospital (FEMAP); Specialized Medical Center. Star Medica Hospital and Polyplaza Medica Hospital.
The delivery of these badges, which represent the purity, responsibility, honesty and seriousness with which they must intervene and watch over the lives of human beings, was presided over by Dr. Jorge Ignacio Camargo Nasar, Head of the Department of Health Sciences. Dr. Raul Ayala Mendoza, Surgeon Degree Coordinator, as well as several UACJ professors.
“The day you set foot in the school, you became educators of health for our Mexican brothers. That day I received them in the first semester, and today we hand them over to the graduated and educated community and the commitment that we will all, as colleagues, take care of the health of our Mexican brothers. So, this is the least of you and I know you You’ll do it. I had them in the first semester, I had them in the tenth, and we’re so different, you can tell the way they talk, the way they think, and I’m glad to be a part of this,” said Dr. Pablo Barrack Angulo Hernandez, professor in the Medicine Program And Godfather to the May 2023 generation.
For his part, Dr. Camargo Nassar urged the students to develop professional cooperation throughout their training period.
“You have to be transcendent and show that you are the leaders, because that’s what we want: for the leaders to come here.”
He concluded by calling on the university community to “if you leave things to chance nothing will ever happen, you have to dream your goals and say when you want to get them and start working with them”.
Relatives and friends accompanied their relatives to the parade, which took place on May 29 in the auditorium of the Professional Center for Engineers and Architects (CEPIA).
