They will build two family medicine units in Saltillo – El Sol de la Laguna

Saltillo, Coahuila. – The delegate of the IMSS in Coahuila, Leopoldo Santillan, announced that two family medicine units will be built in the state capital, one in the north and the other in the south, after the Ministry of Finance authorized investment and operations to implement, which aims to serve about 50 thousand beneficiaries of social security.

The IMSS rep in Coahuila commented, “The Treasury has already allowed us, out of our investment portfolio, two family medicine units that are here in Saltillo, and the next thing now is to do the construction.”

He announced that one of these clinics will be located in the northern region in the area known as “Barrancas” and that the other will be in the south in Hacienda El Cortijo.

With this, attention will be paid to just over 50,000 beneficiaries north and south of the state capital, facilitating their access to healthcare and the needs they may provide.

Residents of North Saltillo currently go to Clinic Two of IMSS, located on V Carranza Street and residents of South go to Clinic 73, located on Avenue Antonio Cárdenas, so with the construction of these two Family Medicine units they will be relieved of the care in these clinics and a better service can be provided.

He explained that these clinics will have a 10-office model of care, continuous medical care (emergency) and the entire PREVENIMSS strategy for birth control.

He concluded that construction could take a year to complete, so it is estimated that these two medical units will start operating during the second half of 2022.
