The White House says there are no records of visitors at Joe Biden’s mansion

The White House said today that there are no records of visitors at President Biden’s private residence near Wilmington, Delaware, where classified documents were found. House Republicans have called for those records to be released.

“Like all presidents through decades of modern history, his personal residence is a personal residence,” the White House said in a statement.

He added, “But upon taking office, President Biden restored the rule and tradition of keeping records of visitors to the White House, including periodicals, after the previous administration had removed them.”

A Secret Service spokesperson also told CNN that while the agency provides security for the Biden home, it does not independently maintain visitor records.

More classified documents have been found at President Biden’s home

The news comes after Rep. James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, called on the administration to release logs of visitors to the Delaware home as Republicans ramp up their investigation.

“Given the serious national security implications, the White House is required to provide a guestbook for the Wilmington residence,” Kummer wrote in a letter to Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain.

Biden’s legal team said it found classified documents dating from his time as vice president in the Delaware home.

Last week, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Robert Hoare as a special prosecutor to investigate the matter for the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Former President Trump, who is also under investigation for handling classified information, responded to the latest discovery of the documents, saying on a social media post, “Maybe they are smarter than we think!”

“The White House has just announced that there are no records or information of any kind regarding visitors to the Wilmington home, nor the flimsy, unsecured, unsecured, but now very famous garage,” Trump said in the post.

The government insisted that its officials cooperated fully with the authorities.
