The Flatrock Motorsports Park and Motorclub It will offer three tracks, including a 5.6km Circuit Club track, a 9+km endurance track and a CIK go-kart track. Its goal is to become “America’s premier motorsports park” and is scheduled to open in the spring of 2023.
A groundbreaking ceremony took place on Wednesday where Tilke Engineers & Architects will construct a total of 34 curves on 773 hectares of Flatrock in Cumberland County. The project also includes a luxury hotel, restaurant, brewery, brewery and an amphitheater for live music performances.
It is the idea of the promoter and the entrepreneur Rusty BeetleChief Operating Officer Jeremy Hill will take over the day-to-day responsibility.
“The Tennessee Motorsports Park is an important project for me and I and our partners are excited to bring it to Cumberland County, Tennessee,” Beetle said.
In an interview with Motorsport.comHill and his track director, Jason Guzman, explained the phased construction plan for the track and its availability to run events.
“The Motorclub itself is part of Phase One along with the go-kart track,” Guzman said. “In the next two months, asphalt will be laid for Motorclub – a 5 kilometer track for our members – and at the same time kart track, which has been approved by CIK. Hopefully we can allow cars and buggies to be rotated on the track in late spring or early summer.
Hill added, “We already have manufacturers coming in and talking to us about renting a 5K cycle. But The main events will be on the Grand Prix circuit in 2024“.
It is understood that circuit management has already held talks with one of the world’s leading motorsports chains with a view to operating its series at Flatrock in the future. The Grand Prix scheme will be built according to the FIA Class II, which rules out any ambitions in F1.
Nationally, the potential of GT events has already been discussed with SRO, and it is also expected to attract other major US series to the venue.
Flatrock is located in the picturesque landscape of the Cumberland Plateau, with natural, rolling elevations embracing the layout of the circuit, and has been blessed by the local authorities.
