Deadpool fans are excited about the news that the UK’s ugliest dog will be making his big screen debut as “Dogpool” in the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie. The trailer for the film, along with an image shared by Ryan Reynolds, revealed that “Dogpool” will be part of the Deadpool multiverse, as one of the canine versions. These details have raised anticipation among fans, who can’t wait until July to see the movie.
Empire magazine has dedicated its Summer 2024 cover to Deadpool & Wolverine, showing the irreverent X-Men in red holding dogs. The dog, whose real name is Peggy, has been dubbed “Britain’s ugliest dog,” and is now attracting media attention for her appearance and role in the film. “The reason I was so supportive of her casting is because she feels like the animal face of Wade Wilson,” Ryan Reynolds said in an interview.

Dogpool first appeared in the comics in 2010 and his inclusion in the film was “a bit of an afterthought,” according to Reynolds in an interview with Empire Magazine. Adapting the character was a challenge in finding the right dog to fit the description in the comics. “Peggy,” a cross between a Chinese Crested and a Pug, has attracted fans and already has her own Instagram space called “Dogpool.”
The film will be released on July 25 in Colombia and on July 26, 2024 in U.S. theaters.
