LONDON, March 14 (EFE) – UK Economy Minister Jeremy Hunt will present in Parliament on Wednesday a budget aimed at promoting “long-term and sustainable” growth, in which measures to boost employment will become relevant.

In November, the minister said in a statement on Tuesday, shortly after the financial turmoil caused by the government of former Prime Minister Liz Truss, Hunt was forced to take action to “ensure stability” and make “difficult decisions”.

Four months later, the government intends to implement the “next phase of the plan”, explained Hunt, who described the economic roadmap he will present to MPs as a “budget for growth”.

“Not just growth to come out of the trough, but healthy, long-term and sustainable growth, which drives the NHS and schools, enables young people to find good jobs and provides a safety net.” for seniors,” describing a conservative politician.

Through these plans, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s government aims to make the United Kingdom “one of the most prosperous countries in the world”.

Before the House of Commons, Hunt will outline his plans to “remove the barriers that prevent companies from investing”, “solve the staff shortage that prevents them from hiring” and “remove the barriers that prevent people from working”.

He will also announce measures to make the UK a “technological and scientific superpower”.

The economy secretary will “reject the narrative of defeatism, defend the successes the UK has achieved in the past decade” and present his plans to take advantage of the government’s “competitive advantages” ahead of Wednesday’s parliamentary appearance. EFE
