Zacatecas, Zak.- The Science Museum of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) celebrated 40 years of life, promotion and dissemination of science in the state, which is why awards were presented to the founders of this important space for the institution and society in general.
The Science Museum opened its doors in 1983 and is dedicated to bringing science and technology to the people of Zacatecas. Since then, this space has impacted more than 150,000 people through various actions. The Quark group, which includes volunteers for scientific publishing, also stands out. Therefore, the university authorities gathered in the central courtyard of the rector’s office to recognize Virgilio Rivera. Zuniga Teniente, Cerro Robles Berumen, and Antonio Villarreal Alvarez, for their efforts in building the museum and making this space possible.
Delivering his message, Secretary General of the Al-Aqsa House of Studies, Angel Roman Gutierrez, praised the organized and complete work done by the entire museum team, as he stated: “It is a pride to see children and young people walking along the path.” Museum halls, in an organized manner and with great interest in learning more about science, this space meets the goal of being a hotbed for more children to choose a path of study in the future.
For his part, the Director General of the Zacatecan Council of Science, Technology and Innovation (COSET), Hamorabi Gamboa Rosales, congratulated the museum on the occasion of its anniversary and stated that “for COSET, our invitation to this 40th anniversary binds us to a fundamental importance.” “The goal we have as a foundation: to awaken early vocations in our girls and boys, and what the Science Museum has done so perfectly for 40 years is that through the Quarx Collection, I deeply congratulate all of the members, educators and science publishers who participate in this space.”
After the award ceremony, there was the Director General of Science Publishing at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), María Emilia Páez Ruiz, who gave an interesting keynote lecture entitled “Science with Chocolate”.
There, the specialist realized the importance of the institution’s publishing team, which she described as “hardworking and dedicated to spreading knowledge.” They are a reference at the national level, and the work done by Berta Michel Sandoval and Miguel García Guerrero is exceptional, and it has been talked about at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and in many other institutions, since we have managed to put the UAZ name very high, With very high quality in publishing science.
He finally stressed that his work, dedication and commitment will ensure that this good name is not lost, but rather preserved. “From UNAM I would like to congratulate you because when you think about disseminating science through workshops and activities, you are a reference at the national level.”
