The foreign ministers of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) held a meeting on Wednesday in the Argentine capital, in which they discussed the current challenges facing the region, Telesur said.
Among the topics that will be discussed at the 23rd meeting of the CELAC Foreign Ministers are the economic recovery after the pandemic, the anti-corruption agenda, and the dialogue with partners outside the region.
It will also discuss the health strategy, food security, infrastructure integration, environmental cooperation, and improving the conditions and conditions of women in member states.
Official Argentine sources said that the meeting of foreign ministers is being held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The day before, a joint meeting of CELAC and EU foreign ministers, the first since 2018, was held to promote dialogue between the two regions.
According to the Argentine Foreign Ministry, the meeting aims to renew the strategic bond, based on historical, cultural and human ties, and to strengthen relations so that relations reach their full potential.
The Cuban delegation participating in these events will be led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, who said that today’s meeting represents an opportunity to discuss issues of regional interest and further strengthen the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States as a mechanism of political agreement and integration.
