The Terretos suffered a heavy defeat yesterday against the United States, at the Rugby Under-20 World Cup in Edinburgh, Scotland. The defeat to the Americans was 32-15, and the result complicated Uruguay’s chances of winning the group, which is the only way to reach the final to compete for promotion to the Rugby World Cup.
A penalty kick by Saunders put the Americans ahead in the seventh minute, but from that moment on Uruguay had its chances and took the lead in the 27th minute with a try from Francisco Garcia. Just before the end of the first half, Icaro Amarillo converted a penalty kick to put Territos up 8-3 at the break.
Coming back from the break, the Sky Blues had a crucial 25 minutes, with two penalties for the USA and two tries, both converted, leaving the Americans 23-8 up with less than 15 minutes remaining.
