The long-awaited season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has finally arrived – 87%, and with that we had the most awaited revelation: Sauron. The villain is mentioned throughout the series as the greatest evil to defeat, but we don’t know anything about his whereabouts, only that Gladrill has been searching for him everywhere. If you haven’t watched the episode, don’t worry, we won’t do any spoilers, but it’s interesting to read what the show makers have to say about Season 2, where Sauron will be a much more active character and for some reason he’s being compared to Walter White.

Despite his short screen time, Sauron was an unforgettable villain in the Peter Jackson films (Scary Dead – 64% King Kong (2005) – 
84% will never grow up – 100%), as we see it above all in the form of an eye of fire. Now that the Amazon Prime Video series has shown him to be a more active character, it will be interesting to continue discovering what show makers Patrick McKay and John DePaine have come up with.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the creators of The Rings of Power commented on how they dealt with the evil created by JRR Tolkien, and also predicted a little more of what will happen in Season 2. Mackay Sauron compares two of television’s most famous heroes, Tony Soprano and Walter White. The first, played by James Gandolfini, was the protagonist soprano; The second, played by Bryan Cranston, was the protagonist of Breaking Bad. 100%, although also featured in Better Call Saul – 100% and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie – 93%.
The co-presenter of The Rings of Power said that after the mysterious way in which Sauron hid himself, in the second season he will finally be able to be himself, in all its intricacies:
Sauron could now be just a Sauron. Like Tony Soprano or Walter White. He’s evil, but intricately evil. We felt that if we did that in season one, it would overwhelm everything else. So season one is like the beginning of Batman, and The Dark Knight is the next movie, with Sauron maneuvering out in the open.

From his words, it’s clear that Season 2 will focus on Sauron, which is exciting because we haven’t seen so many of the characters before. Payne also added:
Season 1 begins with: Who is Galadriel? where are you from? What did you suffer? What motivates her? We do the same with Sauron in Season 2. We will fill in all the missing parts.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power It was a controversial series, which has caused a split in the fandom since the first pictures were shown at the beginning of the year, especially with the first teaser. While much of the controversy surrounding the show was due to its diverse cast, much of the criticism was not because of it, but for a story that was moving too slowly and wasn’t entertaining for many.
Fortunately, the last episode proved that in the future we’ll have a lot more to explore, like the invasion of Moror by Sauron, who in The Rings of Power is under the control of the corrupt elf Adar. The positive aspects of the show are mainly those of the technical department, as they appear to have a good budget.
Currently, UK showrunners are working on Season 2, but there is no estimated date for it to arrive on Amazon Prime Video. As they declared themselves The Hollywood Reporter Recently, there are at least two more years of work left, so we can believe that before 2024 it will not be available.
