The Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Alonso Contreras Miranda, concluded an agenda in London to encourage investment in Peru. Today he met with the UK’s Minister for Trade Policy, Greg Hands, to discuss intergovernmental issues, investment in Peru, as well as UK technical support for planning and best practices in the development of infrastructure projects. During the meeting, negotiations on the double taxation agreement were discussed.
Likewise, Secretary Contreras met with Moody’s Global Director of Sovereign Risk, Marie DeRon, with whom he discussed Peru’s sectoral and regional economic revitalization plan, and the country’s commitment to fiscal consolidation.
Finally, he held a business meeting with investors who explained to them the lines of Peru’s economic policy and the commitment to maintain a fiscally responsible policy. Representatives of ABRDN PLC, Amundi, Ashmore Investment Management, Aviva Investors, Bluebay AssetManagement, Eaton Vance Corporation, Mesarete Capital LLP, PGIM and Pictet Asset Management participated in the meeting.

Minister Contreras kicked off the day in London yesterday from Davos, Switzerland, where he participated in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.
