Director of public schools in Miami County – DaddyOn Monday, Alberto Carvalho reports, a group of medical experts will meet with council members to decide whether mask use will be mandatory in the 2021-2022 school year.
Carvalho’s words came minutes after a group of mothers, accompanied by Senator Annette Tadeo, staged a protest outside the school board to demand the use of masks in schools.
The senator condemned the governor’s announcement Ron DeSantis To warn school boards that it will cut funding if they reject the executive order that allows parents to decide whether to use masks in the classroom.
For its part, the Broward School Board of Directors approved the use of the mask by an eight-to-one vote, a decision that already had backlash.
Florida Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran sent a letter to the board of directors to report that the state has launched an investigation for its failure to comply with the mask ban in public schools.
