MEXICO CITY.- The Killers, led by vocalist Brandon Flowers, made a special record this week: “Mr. “Brightside” became the most played song in Spotify’s history in the UK.
The music streaming platform is celebrating its 15th anniversary, so it launched a list of the most relevant songs and artists within its platform, starting in October 2008.
The aforementioned song by The Killers, which was released in September 2003, had just over 1.8 billion views on the platform worldwide as of 9 October.
Although they stated that it is the most streamed song in Spotify’s history in the UK, they did not reveal the number of copies in this area.
Mr. “Brightside” is a favorite track for the band’s fans and music lovers of all ages. Two years ago, in 2021, he set another record by spending 260 consecutive weeks in the UK Top 100. The song was included on the band’s debut album Hot Fuss.
