Palma, October 30 (EFE). The world’s 72 best Bestards, including four Spaniards, will compete on Saturday, November 6 at the Illes Velodrome in the UCI Track Champions League, the first organized cycling race organized by the UEFA Champions League. Coming from 30 different nationalities, the roster of participants includes 36 men and 36 women who together add up to 29 Olympic medals and 63 UCI Track Cycling Championship titles.
The competition takes place in five rounds in four European countries – Spain, Lithuania, the United Kingdom and Israel – with the aim of conveying the excitement of cycling across the globe to fans around the world thanks to the significant technological deployment in both the stadiums and the innovative coverage of the sport.
Among the 72 ranked, Movistar’s Spaniard Sebastian Mora, former UCI world champion and six-time European champion, Eukene Larrarte, 23, national winner of the last five Spanish championships, stands out from Madison and Tania Calvo, Olympian at the Rio Games ( 2016) which will compete in the endurance category.
Also participating will be Eric Martorell, who is eighth in the last European Championships, aspiring to everything in the UCI Champions League.
Also of note are UCI Keirin and World Singles Champion Harry Lavrijn, Olympic Sprint Team Champion Jeffrey Hoagland, and Track Nations Cup Gold Medalist Nicholas Poole.
