The opening of the fourth meeting of the Conference on Science, Innovation and ICT of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, which will be chaired by President Gustavo Petro, will establish guidelines for cooperation for the period 2024-2025.
The two-day event will address topics such as the structural vision of the socio-economic situation of Latin America, opportunities for sustainable development, the scientific-technical outlook on the challenges faced by each country and the possibilities for strategic investment in science. …technology and innovation.
Communication paths between the private and public sectors, actors in the regions and other issues of great importance to the region will also be discussed.
For her part, Colombian Minister of Science Yesenia Olaya considered this meeting an opportunity for the host country to be a reference in scientific and technological matters, thus strengthening these sectors as an engine for productive and sustainable development. Includes Latin America and the Caribbean.
The fourth meeting of the conference, which is expected to be attended by 23 delegations, is scheduled to conclude tomorrow.
