A lost, tired and cold cyclist was rescued by the Civil Guard of Huesca, a 55-year-old man from the United Kingdom, located near the abandoned town of Abellaneda.
The notice was received this Thursday, January 26th, at approximately 5:50 PM. The person indicated that he left his car in Nocito, in the municipality of Nino, also stating that the battery of his mobile phone was low, although he was able to provide his exact coordinates.
Members of the Huesca Air Unit, with GREIM of Huesca, went to the scene, but as night fell the helicopter had to return to base because of the darkness. 112 Aragon obtained the exact coordinates and thus began the search for the cyclist, this time, with the support of GREIM in Boltaña and Jaca, who heard the victim’s screams around 12:20 in the morning after traveling a long distance on foot. , as indicated by the Civil Guard of Huesca.
Once they located him, they discovered that he was stiff from the cold, so the specialists decided to spend the night in a house that was practically in ruins, in a bivouac set up by GREIM in Jaca. In the morning, the British citizen was taken to St George’s Hospital to assess his condition and whether he had frostbite.

On the other hand, GREIM specialists from Boltaña responded to a notification sent by a guide to a group of hikers who were on a route along Senda de Lalarri, in the municipality of Bielsa, warning that one of the members was “very wrong” and seemed about to pass out.
After receiving the alert at 12:30 PM on Friday, January 27, the force called the person and when they verified that she could not walk, they decided to take her on a stretcher to the area where the helicopter was waiting. The rescued woman, a 79-year-old woman from Valencia, was taken by ambulance to the Ainsa Health Center for tests and related care.
