The Chinese Foreign Minister meets Arab guests

BEIJING, May 31, 2019 (Xinhua) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met today (Friday) with some Arab guests who came to China to attend the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum in Beijing.

During the meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, said that China has always given priority to Saudi Arabia in its foreign relations. The leaders of the two countries have established solid mutual trust and friendship, pointing to the direction of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Saudi Arabia.

China is ready to work with Saudi Arabia to consolidate the political foundation of bilateral relations, expand synergies between development strategies, increase cooperation in energy, investment, emerging industries, 5G communications, artificial intelligence, digital economy, aviation and other fields, and promote green environment. Wang added that sustainable development.

Faisal said that under the care and guidance of the leaders of the two countries, Saudi-Chinese cooperation in various fields has achieved fruitful results. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will remain firmly committed to enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in various fields and promoting the sustainable development of the Saudi-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership. Faisal thanked China for defending a just position on the Palestinian issue.

During the meeting with Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalim al-Faqi, Wang said that China firmly supports Somalia in protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity, achieving political stability, promoting security transition, and achieving economic reconstruction.

Wang added that China is willing to deepen bilateral cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, fisheries and health, and jointly promote the implementation of Belt and Road cooperation and other global initiatives raised by China in Somalia.

Al-Faqi said that Somalia adheres to the one-China principle, strongly supports China’s position on issues related to national reunification, thanks China for its dedicated assistance for peace, security, development and revitalization of Somalia, hopes to continue receiving support from China, and wants greater cooperation in infrastructure, energy, investment and health. Security and other fields within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the Forum on China-Arab Cooperation.

During the meeting with Comoros Foreign Minister Douhir Dzulkamal, Wang thanked Comoros for supporting China’s legitimate proposals on issues related to its core interests and major concerns. China is willing to enhance exchanges with Comoros at all levels, promote high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road framework, deepen cooperation in poverty alleviation, education and training, healthcare and other fields, and import more high-quality products from Comoros.

Zul Kamal said that the Comoros strongly supports China in protecting its regional sovereignty. The Belt and Road Initiative helps Arab and African countries achieve common development, and the Comoros will continue to actively participate in it.

During the meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Wang said that China appreciates Kuwait’s active commitment to enhancing solidarity and cooperation between China and Arab countries, and supports Kuwait in playing a greater role in regional and international affairs.

China is ready to work with Kuwait to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, actively promote cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, wastewater treatment, investment, new energy, digital economy, artificial intelligence and other fields, and promote people-to-people exchanges and exchanges. Wang added that popular culture, promoting the deepening of the strategic partnership between China and Kuwait.

Al-Yahya said that under the leadership of the presidents of the two countries, Kuwaiti-Chinese relations have entered the best period in their history. Kuwait regards China as a reliable and long-term strategic partner, and hopes to enhance high-level exchanges with China, jointly enhance cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road, and enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation.

Al-Yahya thanked China for its adherence to the just position on the Palestinian issue. Al-Yahya said that Kuwait will continue to work to enhance cooperation between Arab countries and China to achieve greater results.
