The capital’s government called on all residents of the capital to celebrate next Sunday the fortieth edition of the Telcel 2023 Mexico City Marathon, in which 30,000 people are estimated to participate over a distance of 42,195 km, on a track that will start from the Olympic Stadium in the capital. Ciudad Universitaria and the finish line in the Zócalo.
The marathon will start at 05:55, and at 6 am the elite runners will start.
So far, 25,623 runners have registered, including 1,000 runners from the United States, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Japan, Peru, France, Argentina, Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, Kenya and Ethiopia.
“The marathon is not just an exercise, it is the ultimate expression of sport, a symbol of health, a manifestation of joy, an urban culture, a spectacle, an attraction for national and international tourism, but, above all, the greatest civic symbol of physical prowess and resistance.

said Prime Minister Marti Patrice.
He stated that the contestants will be awarded a pink and white T-shirt inspired by the women of Chiapas and the worldview of the Mayan culture, as well as a medal in honor of the Latin American constellation.
The first place prize will be 550,000 pesos. The second 245 thousand and the third 180 thousand. And if they pass the marathon’s all-time record, there will be an additional 550,000 pesos.
