The British Labor Party opened its annual conference in Liverpool on Sunday, hoping that it would motivate its leader, Keir Starmer, to come to power after thirteen years of conservative governments.
Angela Rayner, the party’s second-in-command and a rising figure in the Labor Party, began the conference with a speech.
The Labor Party reaches Congress with great confidence, leading opinion polls for the legislative elections that will be held no later than January 2025, by a difference ranging between 15 and 20 points.
However, Starmer, who appears on course to become the next prime minister, urged Labor on Sunday not to get “drunk” on the prospect of power, in an interview with the Observer weekly newspaper.
The BBC said on Sunday: “Economic growth has been very weak for 13 years, and everything you will hear from Labor this week will have to do with the economy, and rising living standards across the country.”

In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, Starmer announced a £1.5 billion plan for the National Health Service (NHS), which has fallen into an unprecedented crisis following austerity measures.
“We are the party of change,” the 61-year-old former lawyer insisted recently, mocking the “circus” displayed by the Conservative Party at its conference this week in Manchester and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s stated ambition for change.
When the country is going through a serious crisis due to the rising cost of living, the Labor Party intends to take advantage of the apparent erosion suffered by the Conservatives, who appear divided and increasingly leaning to the right.

Keir Starmer, party leader since 2020, is expected to once again present his “Five Ideas for the UK” at this conference: develop green energy, boost economic growth, secure the future of the NHS, create opportunities for all, and improve security.
