The 2,361 medical students are dominated by women

The Director of the Academic Unit at UAZ, Rosa Martha Covarrubias, presented her second work report and recognized the insufficient places and clinical areas for students

As stipulated by the Statute of the Foundation, today the Director of the Academic Unit of Human Medicine and Health Sciences, Rosa Martha Covarrubias Carrillo, appeared before the Rector Rubén de Jesús Ibarra Reyes and the University community at the presentation of the Second Knowledge. He pointed out that the number of students enrolled in the unit is 2,361, the majority of whom are female in university and medical specializations.

He explained that undergraduate students are present in various health institutions in the country and abroad, due to the large number of places and clinical fields, which are not sufficient, so they are forced to go to other states. In the Class of 2023, 50 students remained thanks to a scholarship offered jointly by the University President’s Office.

With the university president Covarrubias Carrillo explained that there has been a significant increase in the number of teachers and counselors, which contributes to reducing the rate of failure and tardiness.

Among the academic activities that stood out were medical conferences and the Medical Conference, which was part of the 55th anniversary of what is now the Academic Unit of Human Medicine.

The director reported that there are currently 64 cooperation agreements with various institutions such as medical colleges, the mayor’s office, COBAEZ, AMANC, and others.

During his speech, after listening to the report, University President Rubén de Jesús Ibarra Reyes congratulated the director and affirmed his institutional commitment, stressing that it is necessary for the community to know what is happening at the university.

The ceremony was attended by Academic Secretary Hans Hiram Pacheco Garcia. Coordinator of the Academic Council of the Health Sciences District, Juan Armando Flores de la Torre and Academic Secretary of the Human Medicine and Health Sciences Unit, Ilda Araceli García Moyorga.
