Telling customers that the product comes from Rwanda is enough to convince them.

Rwanda’s fruits and vegetables continue to conquer new international markets. Kengne Empire from Rwanda will ship its products for the first time to the United Kingdom, Spain and Belgium during the first quarter of 2023, having already entered the German and French markets.

Kengne Timo, CEO of Kengne Empire, is not short of ambition: “Our goal is to bring fresh Rwandan produce to the plate of every consumer who wants healthy products.” The company primarily exports habanero peppers, as well as bird’s eye peppers, okra, and white eggplant, as well as exotic fruits such as avocados and passion fruit. According to Kengne, the volume of exports has more than tripled, thanks to the addition of new producers and the introduction of new markets.

The success of Rwandan production, according to Kengne, is due to very competitive prices for high-quality products, as well as continuous supply. “Suffice it to say to customers that the product comes from Rwanda and they will be convinced. Rwandan exporters have created the brand image of fresh, high-quality Rwandan produce and the reliability of the people behind it.”

But the real achievement, according to Kengne, is the ambitious vision behind it: “I am a young entrepreneur with a passion for business and making the world greener, and that drives me every day,” as well as a patriotic ambition. “With the help of the Rwandan government, we were able to overcome the difficulties we faced during the pandemic and the increase in energy costs.”
