Damascus, February 26 (Prince Latina) Today, the Syrian Council of Ministers approved a national action plan in the short, medium and long term to confront the effects of the earthquakes that shook this country on February 6.
Prime Minister Hussein Arnous explained that the plan includes various sectors – family, housing, social and service, and explained that the government is studying all options to compensate those affected.
The CEO explained that coordination with all national partners in the business sector, civil societies, syndicates, federations and the local community is necessary for its implementation.
He revealed that the damage caused by the earthquakes is very large and covers several sectors, which requires studying all the proposals submitted in order to reach the most appropriate formulas that contribute to facing the effects of this disaster that affected thousands of families.
According to a cabinet press release, the plan plans to support livelihoods and basic services in the affected areas, and to secure housing for the displaced, in addition to completing data collection.
It also provided for ensuring that aid reaches those who deserve it, assessing the current reality of dams, rehabilitating schools, hospitals, water and sewage networks, electricity and communications, and prompt repair of damage to roads, walls and vital centers.
Likewise, it considers that national public construction companies have priority in implementing projects to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure and work in the construction of residential complexes and temporary housing.
The earthquakes that devastated the governorates of Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia, and Hama left thousands dead and injured, as well as widespread destruction of homes and the infrastructure of public services.
