Supplies from the Fertilizer for Wellbeing program will arrive in Chihuahua this week

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced that the supply of fertilizer will begin in the following days to benefit about 63,000 corn and bean producers – according to planting dates – in 67 municipalities in Chihuahua.

The National Coordinator of the Fertilizers for Welfare Program and Director General of Soils and Water of the Federal Agency, Ariely Cerron Trejo, confirmed that this support has an investment of approximately 500 million pesos and will be for the benefit of Chihuahua farmers registered in the Production for Welfare standard.

He emphasized that the goal is to deliver 34,000 tons of fertilizer (14,000 tons of diammonium phosphate and 20,000 tons of urea) directly and without intermediaries to cover an area of ​​119,676 hectares of basic grain crops, or 300 kilograms per hectare. 600 kg maximum per product.

The federal official noted that Chihuahua joins the entities (Durango, Veracruz, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo) that will begin to receive inputs and, in subsequent days, call for their free delivery to producers in the various locations.

He said the above in order to come on time, based on the different dates, and to keep small and medium producers as a priority – from one to five hectares and from more than five and up to 20 hectares – he indicated.

For the inputs of all the entity’s municipalities, Cerón Trejo explained that the Ministry of Agriculture, through the Directorate of Soils and Water, maintains close cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Welfare, state authorities and with Mexican food security. (Segalmix).
