Spain defeats Brazil and will face the United States in the quarterfinals

Sportswriting, 16 June. The Spanish national wheelchair basketball team defeated Brazil (49-34), in the last match of the group stage of the World Cup in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), and will face the United States in the quarter-finals.

Spain started the match very unwisely under the basket and the Brazilians set up an eight-goal streak that the players, led by Frank Belen, managed to make up for with two baskets before the end of the first quarter.

In the second half, Spain, led by captain Sonia Ruiz, managed to turn the score around and enter the second half with a seven-point lead, which the Brazilians could not cut.

Vicki Alonso, Isabel Lopez and Sara Revuelta broke the game in the third quarter and in the last quarter Brazil tried to improve their offensive performance, despite not having much space to react, they conceded their fifth defeat in the tournament to finish bottom of Group B.
