Caracas, January 28 (Prensa Latina) The organization’s First Vice President, Diosdado Cabello, said that the Socialist United Venezuelan Party (PSUV) is preparing today a strategy for electoral mobilization and participation towards the regional elections scheduled for this year.
During his regular show Con el Mazo, broadcast on Venezolana de Televisión, Capello indicated that the country’s main political force is looking to win 23 states in the upcoming call to the polls, with a date yet to be set.

At the start of the week, Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro called on the country’s progressive forces to strengthen national unity ahead of the 2021 regional elections.
During his meeting with the national leadership of the Venezuelan Socialist Party, the Venezuelan president urged the military movement to master the electoral mechanism to ensure a new victory in the elections, after securing a parliamentary majority in the recent legislative elections.
Maduro invited other organizations allied with the Great Patriotic Pole. “We have a goal for this year and we must work to achieve it and unify efforts to win the country’s 23 provinces in the upcoming elections,” the head of state stressed.
The President of the United Socialist Party of the revolution also denounced the existence of factions that stir up divisions within the revolutionary forces, and called for strengthening unity in defense of the legacy of the Bolivarian leader Hugo Chávez (1954-2013).
Maduro called on the leaders of the ranks and all the militants to name the division by names and titles in order to preserve the party’s role as the main leading organization in the revolutionary process.
In the legislative elections that took place on December 6, the Unified Socialist Party and its allies from the Great Patriotic Pole achieved a parliamentary majority in the new National Assembly, with the number of elected representatives reaching 256 out of a total of 277.
