The Directorate of Social Welfare of the City Council is calling the general public for what will be the day of visual health that they have set with free eye examinations on Friday, July 7 at their facilities located on Calle Gonzalez Street, in the Flores Guerra building.

As the head of the agency, Araceli García explained that this event is taking place in collaboration with Salud Digna and will take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with the support of the team of this private company and the help of government employees.

“They come to participate in free vision tests, and from there what citizens ask for, they will think about how to deal with it, with a discount, etc. And this is very strange for us already. What will be dealt with here is only an eye examination that is free and open to all citizens.”

He stated that we know that they will benefit families who are in a situation of vulnerability and that they will benefit, among them the total number of elderly people and children, which he considered important for all people who register difficulties to see well.

For them, he said, as municipal government, it is a priority to maintain and promote a citizen approach and above all to be able to deliver benefits to the most vulnerable community, exactly as the agency’s mission is, in some cases completely free of charge and at other times, like this, at a low cost.

He reported that, on the same topic as social awareness programmes, for Saturday 8 July, they plan to hold a comprehensive care day in the community center in the neighborhood of Esperanza, where other agencies will collaborate between institutions with benefits for the population.
