Science, Technology and Innovation Meetings for San Andreas Students

Through institutional meetings, boys and girls from 15 educational institutions in San Andres lead science, technology and innovation processes.

During the month of April, meetings are held between boys and girls, teenagers and young researchers, so that they can disseminate the projects they develop during the school year.

These are meetings for the dissemination of science, technology and innovation, spaces for sharing processes and results of research carried out by students, which also have the function of generating knowledge networks.

These spaces are implemented thanks to the Ondas programme, implemented by the National University of Colombia, headquarters for the Caribbean, in the archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, and uses resources from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Government of the Department.

Principals, teachers, students and other members of educational institutions provide their support to these meetings, by forming 80 research groups, which will develop research projects in various lines of the UNDAS programme.

The initiative aims to increase the level of development of scientific, technological and innovative skills and capabilities among children and adolescents in the Gezira region.

In Providencia and Santa Catalina, meetings with thirteen groups have already ended in the Maria Inmaculada, Bombona and Junín institutions. On the San Andrés side, courses continue at the Suenos Alegres Educational Center, the Bolivariano Educational Institutions, Sagrada Familia, Antonia Santos, Tecnico Industrial, Flores Hill, El Carmelo, Cajasay, El Arca, First Baptist and Modelo Adventista.
