Russia and the United Kingdom are present in the Salvadoran cupping

Setala, Chalatenango. On Sunday, top representatives from the UK and Russia participated in the “first cupping and sampling of specialty coffee from the Trifinio region”, an initiative that seeks to promote the product and explore new markets internationally.

Vice-President Felix Ulloa was accompanied on this occasion by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom Patrick Lilliot and the Chargé d’Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Khokholikov. The National Executive Director of the Trifinio El Salvador Plan, Jorge Urbina, among other national figures was also involved.

The latter lauded the government’s support in the revitalization of agriculture and coffee, as an important stake for the country’s economic take-off as well as “other essential contributions of the Trifinio region which are expressed in the areas of health, education, communication, technology transfer and essentially an upgrade project from the Ministry of Agriculture called “Riceto”.

Through this project, controlled production is carried out through high-tech greenhouses, technical assistance to producers, as well as support in the design and marketing of their products.

Urbina noted that Plan Trifinio was proud of the interest shown by representatives of the United Kingdom and Russia, assuring them that El Salvador would continue to work on the sustainable management and conservation of the Trifinio Fraternidad Transfrontier Biosphere Reserve due to its importance.
