Buffalo, NY, USA (AP) – The meeting between the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday was postponed due to a storm.
Rescheduled for August 7 as part of a double header in Toronto.
The teams from the series will end on Wednesday. These will be the last 23 major league games played this season at Buffalo Sahlin Field, home of the Triple-A Blue Jays. The team will return to Toronto for their home encounter on July 30 after the Canadian government waived a travel ban between the United States and Canada.
Toronto started the day in third place in the Middle East, seven games behind leaders Boston. The Red Sox won 13-4 on Monday.
The Red Sox’s right-handed Garrett Richards (5-5, 4.91 ERA) was scheduled to start on Tuesday against Toronto right-hander Thomas Hatch, who was set to make his debut this season.
Right Tanner Houch (0-2, 3.38) was scheduled to start for the Red Sox on Wednesday against Blue Jays left Robbie Ray (8-4, 2.93).
