(LSN / InfoCatlicaOn Saturday 3 September, the March for Life UK was held in central London, with a record number of participants. The reversal of the case of Roe v. Wade in the United States had a ripple effect across the ocean, as more young people walked the streets in a spirited march that ended in a demonstration in Parliament Square.
Madeleine Page, CEO of the Pro-Life Student Alliance, said: “We have seen a steady increase in the number of young people wanting to participate in pro-life events from American news, and many of them are coming out for the first time feeling that since this topic has been talked about more, it has become It is now accepted to disclose their beliefs.
One of the keynote speakers at this year’s event was Sean Carney, founder and CEO of 40 Days for Life, the world’s largest international pro-life organization. Sean came from the US to speak at the rally and began his speech with a resounding salute from Abortion-Free Texas! Sean reminded the audience of Mother Teresa’s words: When America ends abortion, the world will follow.
Besides Sean Carney, there were several speakers from the UK, including Hayley, who shared her testimony about forced abortion, and Amrita, who took her first set of abortion pills only to experience an immediate feeling of remorse and called Dr. Dermot Kearney (also a spokesperson for TODAY) , who prescribed what is known as the abortion pill for Amrita. After that, Amrita showed her beautiful and healthy baby girl to the public.
The number of 50 or so abortion supporters who gathered to protest in front of the 7,000-strong crowd at the UK’s March for Life, who chanted its slogan 10 million is too many, dwindled. One of the event’s organizers, Ben Thatcher, explained: This is the number of abortions that have occurred since the passage of the Abortion Act in the UK. Co-Director, Isabel Vaughan Sprouse, shared her concerns about current abortion legislation, which allows abortions of up to 24 weeks for almost any cause and until birth for Down syndrome or disability: Inside every pregnant woman’s uterus is a human being. He said it’s not politics, it’s not religion, it’s science.
Among those present were people without religious beliefs and from different Christian denominations, including three Catholic bishops who spoke at the event. The event was supported by pro-life organizations across the UK.
