Mathematical Writing, October 30. Brazilian Rebecca Andrade leads the women’s all-around competition for the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, to be held in Liverpool (United Kingdom), after completing the two qualifying days on Sunday.
Andrade, the 23-year-old and current Olympic all-around runner-up and gold medalist in the vault in Tokyo and at the World Championships in Kitakyushu, leads the overall standings with 57,332 points after finishing 12th in the jump (11,466), and third in uneven ( 14666), eighth on the balance beam (13400) and second on the ground in the same degree as her compatriot Flavia Saraiva, All-American Champion (14200).
The Brazilian advanced by defeating the Americans Chilize Jones (55,766) and Jade Carey (55.132), who took first and second places after Saturday’s session. The final match will be held next Thursday.
Andrade will also compete in the asymmetric finals, balance beam and floor, as the third reserve keeper in the vault.
