At the meeting, the Head of State noted that the distance between the irrationally rich North and the increasingly poor South is widening as human costs rise, while the resources that nature puts at our disposal are being squandered.

“The South cannot be forced to choose between development and climate action. Both factors are inextricably linked,” he stressed.
