ANKARA, June 4 – The first President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, proceeded to the opening ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Ankara, attended by some thirty foreign heads of state and government.

After taking the oath of office in Congress, Erdogan, who won the presidential elections in the second round and will rule for the next five years, went to the mausoleum of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

In his speech, Erdogan stressed the importance of unity and brotherhood among all Turkish citizens, as he pledged to embrace everyone regardless of their political ideologies or ethnic background.

The first president promised to introduce a more liberal constitution in his first speech under oath.

Attending the opening ceremony at the Presidential Complex, which was attended by high-ranking officials from 78 countries, Erdogan said that Turkey needs the energy and contribution of all its citizens.

We need unity and solidarity more than ever. We think Turkey needs a big welcome crowd on its centenary. For this reason, I invite everyone in our 81 provinces to launch a brotherhood campaign,” he said.

Türkiye entered a new path after the end of the casting of votes and the announcement of the results. “Türkiye’s century has begun and the doors of our country’s growth have opened,” Erdogan said.

Referring to the opposition’s rejection of all offers of reconciliation after the previous elections, the president said he hoped the opposition, including politicians, journalists and others, would make peace with the national will and join him in building Turkey’s century.
