It’s a new month, which means many of you will be wondering what’s coming to Netflix in the coming weeks. Let’s put that process aside for a moment and simply say that there will be a lot of things to watch this August, be it movies or TV series, each of which spans a variety of genres.
Before we get into the choices, it’s worth knowing that we relied on additions to the catalog. Netflix In the UK, so it’s best to check local information. In Spain the release dates and titles remain the same.
Note: We’re skipping our Disney+ article this month, because aside from Return of the Adventures of the Young Jedi, the service has very little to write home about this August.
Unstable (Season 2) – August 1
Rob Lowe and his son John Owen Lowe return in this comedy series about an eccentric tech genius who is depressed after the tragic loss of his wife.

Rebel Moon Part 1 & 2: Director’s Cut – August 2
Extended versions of Zack Snyder’s critically acclaimed sci-fi and action films will be released alongside them, bringing with them nearly six hours of content to chew through in Rebel Moon.
Saving Bikini Bottom: A Sandy Cheeks Movie – August 2
This animated adventure takes us under the waves to experience the story of how Sandy Cheeks rose to save Bikini Bottom from destruction. How, you ask? The iconic city has been pulled from the ocean, and now Sandy and SpongeBob must team up to bring it home.

The Umbrella Academy (Season 4) – August 8
The final season of the action series. The Umbrella Academy will have a mission here to restore reality to normal by finally defeating their father, although their powers will not help.
Emily in Paris (Season 4 – Part 1) – August 15
The drama series will return once again and will see Emily (Lily Collins) team up with Gabrielle in an attempt to get a Michelin star for their Parisian restaurant.
Union – August 16
Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry clash as former high school sweethearts turned secret agents in this action film that explores the dangerous world of global espionage.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos: The Movie – Part 1 & 2 – August 22
The two-part cinematic moment that also serves as the fifth season of the Sailor Moon anime, and the final chapter of the Sailor Moon Crystal arc.
The Secret Life of Orangutans – August 22
David Attenborough lends his timeless, iconic voice to this nature documentary that follows an eight-year-old orangutan as he goes about his daily life in the dangerous and beautiful wilderness.
Inexperienced – August 23
This comedy is about a group of high school freshmen who want to attend their first high school party. Expect lots of wild action and crass humor in this movie.
Chaos – August 29
Jeff Goldblum stars as the conflicted Zeus tasked with overseeing humans, gods and everything in between, in this modern take on Greek mythology from the author of The End of the F***ing World.
Terminator Zero – August 29
This anime is part of the Terminator story and follows a resistance fighter who is sent back in time to create a rival AI to take on Skynet and prevent a destructive future.
Salvation – August 30
Starring Glenn Close and Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things), this horror film follows a family living in rural Indiana as they encounter a supposed portal to hell that has opened in their home.
