Starting next April 7, Parque Central will host the National Pony Association Children’s Championship in the 9- to 10-year-old mustang class with 14 teams from eight states, Rogelio Muñoz Sabin, director of that recreational space, informed.

The purpose of the activity is to start holding sporting events in Central Park, in partnership with the Chihuahuan Institute of Sport and Physical Culture, in addition to representing the Pony Association.

The official said that the winner of the match will represent Mexico in the tournament that will be held during the month of August in the state of Louisiana in the United States.

He noted that Central Park is a recreational space for Juarez residents that can help restore social fabric, sports work and health.

With the rehabilitation of the two baseball fields in Central Park, the goal is to hold the largest number of sporting events, said Jesús Pacheco Ramirez, Delegate of the Chihuahuan Institute of Sport and Physical Culture in the North Region.

Salvador Venegas, representative of the Pony League, announced that 14 teams from eight states of the Republic of Mexico have already confirmed their participation in this tournament, but it is expected that there will be more registrations to form four groups, each with eight teams.

He explained that the Pony League is a 68-year-old organization in the United States that promotes baseball and calls on various organizations on our continent and Europe to carry out these world-important tournaments in various categories.
