Instructor Percy Bechton will provide international training at the Corazón de Piedra Sport Climbing Academy, in Durango.
The event begins on Monday, January 30, and is an invaluable training for the athletes from Durango, as Carlos Eduardo has already been trained by two of the 25 International Sport Climbing Federation (IFSC)-certified parapets.
The event will conclude with a competition in which children and young adults from this academy can enter using the pieces Master Percy and a team of professionals placed on the walls of the Heart of Stone Academy.
Professionals from South America, North America and Europe will also participate, including Carlos Eduardo Pérez Favela from Durango, Sebastian Rojas from Argentina, who officiated the Pan American Championships, Chilean Eduardo Muñoz, who officiated the South American Championships, Conor Maclannen from the United States and France’s Julien Bartlett.
Who is Percy Bechton?
He hails from the UK, where he founded the world’s first climbing gym, has been appointed to over 60 World Cups, World, Continental and National Championships and is the only director at the Olympic Games.
During the 2020 Olympic Games, he designed and fixed the position of every piece that had to be placed on the walls where the sport climbing competition was held.
A visit to Pishtun could open the doors to negotiations with the International Federation for Durango to become the venue for one of the World Cup tournaments that make up the IFSC World Championship.
