London (CNN) – When a Hollywood star like Pedro Pascal visits a small English seaside town like Margate, it must be a great event.
However, the Emmy-nominated actor didn’t get the celebrity treatment he was expecting on Sunday, when he appeared at an art exhibit dedicated to him.
Accompanied by tech podcasters Robert Diament and Russell Tovey, The Last of Us actor finds the gallery closed.
Undeterred, the trio took a selfie outside the Rhodes Gallery and Posted on social media“, along with the caption: “Margit Art Friends Reunited.”
They smile, and appear next to a small black-and-white sketch of Pascal, under a poster by artist Heidi Gentle Burrell, which reads: “Over-fixation due to ADHD and why I seem to love Pedro Pascal.”
“It was so cool,” Burrell said this week. Independent. “Although I imagine it’s a bit awkward, with all the artwork on it.”
“It made me angry that it was a Sunday, when the gallery was closed. I would like Robert to bring it when the gallery is open.
British actor and art gallery director Diament hosts an art podcast called Talk Art, and the Rhodes Gallery, home to Burrell’s 14-piece solo show, shared the image on Instagram, along with some of the artist’s photos.
In an email to CNN on Thursday, Jessica Rhodes Robb, the gallery’s co-owner, said the exhibit was “exceptional” and that they were “so proud that it got the publicity it deserved.”
“We were horrified that they couldn’t get in, and the Sunday opening policy is definitely under review,” Rob added. “We will be sending Pedro a gift from the gallery as an apology.”
Chilean-born Pascal, 48, is one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors, having appeared as Joel Miller in HBO’s post-apocalyptic drama The Last of Us and bounty hunter Din Djarin in The Mandalorian.
In the eyes of many social media users, these pseudo-paternal displays have earned Pascal the sexually charged nickname “Papa.”
“My dad is a state of mind,” Tovey commented on the post, referring to Pascal’s nickname.
Margate is located about 110 km east of London, in the county of Kent. Earlier this year, street artist Banksy painted a Valentine’s Day mural there, which was later removed.
